We are a prestigious hotel located in the beautiful ski resort of Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. We are currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional looking to contribute their expertise in a thriving hospitality environment. The position is responsible for the general Finance and Accounting daily operations, general ledger accounts reconciliation, tax compliance, financial reporting, and other relevant projects.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Manage all aspects of financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cashflow, expenses and reimbursement, etc.
- Lead team and assist Head of Finance to close the accounting book before deadline each month, prepare accurate and timely financial statements. Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with hotel operations to streamline internal processes and improve efficiency.
- Perform financial analysis, liaise closely with General manager, operations team leader and Headquarters’ finance team, providing informative advice for cost-saving measures and revenue enhancement.
- Assist in the audits and tax filing processes.
- Other Finance and Accounting relevant tasks as assigned.
- Other duties as requested by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Nissho Boki Level 2 certification.
- 5 or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Solid knowledge of JGAAP and Japan tax laws.
- Native level Japanese and business English. Chinese mandarin is a plus.
- Experience with ERP or other accounting software/system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel
- Strong problem solving and result-oriented thinking.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, good interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively and independently in a team environment.
- Hospitality industry experience is a plus.
- Driver License preferred.

- Year-round contract employment
- Start date, negotiable.
- Salary, based on experience.
