Seasonal Bell & Recreation Officer

Sansui Niseko is a luxury hotel located in the beautiful ski resort destination of Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan.

We are currently seeking a Bell & Recreation Officer to join our team.

The primary responsibilities of this role include providing warm welcomes and farewells to guests, handling luggage storage and management, processing courier deliveries and shipments, and escorting guests to their rooms as part of general bell services.

In addition, this position involves supporting ski-in/ski-out operations, managing ski lockers, assisting with rental equipment and ski school arrangements, handling lift pass coordination, and operating staff shuttle services. Through these responsibilities, the role plays a key part in ensuring a seamless and comfortable guest experience throughout their stay.

We welcome candidates with knowledge of winter sports activities or previous experience working in ski resort environments. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about hospitality, take pride in their work, and are committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage ski-in/ski-out areas and ski locker facilities, ensuring guests can use lockers safely, comfortably, and efficiently.
  • Handle ski and snowboard rental operations, assist with ski school bookings, and support the loading and unloading of ski equipment to ensure smooth guest service.
  • Operate the staff shuttle service when required, along with related transportation duties.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, provide warm welcomes and farewells, and escort guests to their rooms as part of bell service operations.
  • Manage guest luggage storage and handling, as well as receiving and dispatching courier deliveries.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Arrange lift tickets and maintain proper inventory control.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Rooms Division within the hotel industry (Front Office, Concierge, Bell, etc.) is preferred. Experience in ski resort operations is also an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge and practical understanding of winter sports activities such as skiing and snowboarding.
  • Experience driving in snowy conditions is preferred.
  • Physically capable of performing outdoor winter duties, including snow removal when required.
  • Respects Japanese service culture and values, and is able to deliver flexible, high-quality service in response to guest needs and situations.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be legally permitted to drive in Japan, including holding an International Driving Permit where applicable.
  • Business-level English proficiency, along with strong communication skills in either Japanese or Chinese.

Employment Conditions

  • Winter Seasonal Position (approximately November 2026 to March 31, 2027)
  • Hourly Wage: From ¥1,500 per hour and above (commensurate with experience and qualifications)
  • Shift-Based Schedule: Average of 40 working hours per week
